One other aspect is being able to access it from other apple devices. If I'm on
my macbook and an iMessage comes in, I can read and respond quickly without having to pull out/unlock my phone. Admittedly, it's minor, but things like that do tend to bug you over time.

You still have failed to answer how it ruins it, other than not being able to see when someone's typing.
