actors and camera operators, etc...While I do get some hard working committed ones, my biggest problem I encounter is lack of focus and patience. For example, when there is a break on set, or in between takes, Ill usually find 90 percent of millennials finding their phone and zone out to the rest of the crew. The older non-millennials are generally talking with each other, going over ideas, and how to improve a shot, etc...It's always a challenge to keep the millennials focused on task. I've even tried to remove phones from sets it's been so bad.
They are also more likely to be no shows, and then text later like them not showing up wasn't a big deal. Like, "sorry about that, when is the next project." As if there should be no consequences. I never re-hire no shows.
But they are usually more talented and gifted and high energy than anyone else when they can actually show up and put their phones down.
