We bought five stars, with one restricted week (Easter) to lower cost a bit.
Paid cash to avoid a recurring payment.

As for whether we'd do it again, that's tricky but also somewhat related to our circumstances and style. We bought when we were young newly marrieds, dual-income no kids (we were both graduated from BYU and working when we met). In that circumstance it's a lot easier to travel than our current one, where we have two young kids (oldest turns four today) and are contemplating having more. A lot of the places we want to go with the kids are harder to get into due to other families having the exact same desire.

The other factor is planning. My wife is what you might call a spontaneous traveler--earlier this year we did a three week road trip around the southwest US, then followed that up (after a week at home) with a month in Vietnam to visit her family. The road trip was planned a week in advance, and she booked the Vietnam trip while we were driving around.

That kind of planning rarely works for Global Discovery, unless you're taking one of their last minute inventory deals (which they do have, and which can be pretty cool). You're much better off planning well in advance with them.

So, if your style is "last minute getaway," you may not find it satisfactory. If you book well in advance (+6 mo), and especially if you travel with big groups (extended family, large family, friends) then in my opinion it's quite a good deal.
