Division Bell 3rd String
My company (in Provo), pulled a complete garbage move on vacation.
All accrued vacation, PTO and sick time is now gone. We "get to" ask our immediate boss for time off instead, with no limitations. They claim we'll get more time off, but in reality, that's BS. People are naturally hesitant to ask for time off, but will claim "earned" time off because there's less proof that you deserve it.

I'm a firm believer in a few truisms in life:

* tax reform means more taxes.

* everyone is responsible for X, means that no one is responsible for X.

* Unlimited benefits aren't unlimited. You'll get a sit down chat with your boss if you're using "too much" (hint: that definition changes by each boss, changes by time of the quarter, changes by the dang weather).

* Companies with huge Y=X^3 pay structure will always leverage pay/benefits to the upper management's benefit. The lower level employees are treated like throw-away commodities and the upper crust takes more.
