where you could cash out unused time if you left. I found myself hoarding that time and I'd only take a week or so off each year on average. The last few companies I've been with are use-it-or-lose-it and have generally encouraged employees to use it all and I find my mental health does much better when I'm able to unplug for a few weeks each year as compared to hoarding the time for an eventual payoff.
