Agree with this. Especially for girls. A really good female swimmer
on my daughter's team is now 17 and is swimming breast and free only about 2 seconds faster than she was when she was 11 years old.

Seems like puberty can mess things up in a big way for swimmers.

I have no illusions that my daughter will be an Olympian, and probably not even a collegiate swimmer, so then you get back to time/return ratio that HenderCoug mentions.
