this was years ago. The sales pitch was not AT dinner though. You had to sit through the pitch to get the coupon for a free dinner.
The hard sell included them even denying that you had been promised a nice meal and acting as if they had to make some phone calls to somehow secure your "free meal" to a nice restaurant in park city. They acted so put out that all you wanted was their free meal coupon that they never even told you over the phone you would get. There was an older couple there (about my age now probably, as we were just kids then) and those folks and the HCBW and I were the only ones that just insisted on the coupon after we said we weren't interested. They shuffled us off into this other room where they worked their guilt trip angle. Each time the guy would leave the old guy would look at me and say "stay strong kid".
The good thing about this experience is that I will NEVER sign up for anything "free" again. Done with that crap.
