Your admission that you simply prefer a long-and-deep passing offense to an offense that exploits a mobile QB is refreshing. It's much better than the people bashing Hoge because they prefer a different style.

However, I think you may be projecting the offense you want on to Detmer. From what I've seen and heard, Detmer's preferred offense will probably be at least 50% power runs, just like last year. And most of the throws will be short, just like last year. Mangum does have the ability to throw the out more effectively than Taysom, so I'd expect that to be much more of a feature, but I think those fans who are expecting BYU to turn into Washington State this year will be wrong.
