The adoption for our two year old daughter was finalized today. It's been a long 21 months.
After months (almost years) of court hearings, home visits, CASA visits, parental visits, training, etc. she is now officially ours.

When we started down this path my wife and I wanted to adopt a sibling group. When you go through the state to become qualified to adopt you automatically become qualified for foster care. Late one night we get a call asking us if we were willing to do foster care for a one year old girl. Two issues with that. One, we wanted to adopt. Two, we wanted a sibling group. The Placement Specialist said that was fine, and we should give her a call back in 15 minutes with our answer of whether or not we would take her. We hung up, talked about it, prayed about it, and the rest is history.

I have no doubt the hand of God was in this experience. The joy she has brought our family is incredible, and I'm grateful for personal revelation that is so helpful in those critical moments of life.
