Are rogue subtitlers common? I just saw the weirdest subtitle. My wife is
watching Sabrina the Teenage Witch (Yes, I know she has bad tastes in shows) and there is a scene where Sabrina is about to kiss some dude. Just before the guy leans in Sabrina's aunt (or whoever she lives with, idk) is seen peeking through the door trying to get a glimpse of the kiss. As the dude leans in Sabrina realizes her aunt is peeping so she casts a spell closing the door.

As the door closes a subtitle pops up that says "Now I know how Mormons feel" and Sabrina and the dude kiss.

The thing is that between the dude leaning in, the spell closing the door so the aunt can't peep, and the kiss not a single word is said. No one said anything at all.

I don't know what whoever wrote the subtitles means by "Now I know how Mormons feel" was trying to say but it was super odd.

I have seen subtitles that are butchered, usually on live tv, or slightly messed up in budget movies or international films but I don't think I have ever seen a totally random unspoken line thrown in.
