Learned my sister has ovarian cancer...unemployed, homeless, no insurance
It's a long story, the family situation is. But my brother is flying her to Las Vegas to be by family during treatment; she'll be living with him. He's overwhelmed and trying to sort things out. He lives in Henderson.

I don't know how the insurance part of things works out. ANY information or advice would be helpful. Should we take her to the local Medicaid office and see if she qualifies for coverage there in Nevada? Will they cover surgeries and chemo (if needed) if she applies for coverage with that diagnosis?

She's not a druggy or anything; she just has weaknesses that cause her to make poor decisions regarding relationships and employment. She has no dependents; her children are young adults that either live with their father or are college-age type with really no way to help or support her. So we only need to worry about her health. My brother doesn't want her to worry about employment in Las Vegas; just wants her to be taken care of.

Where do I start in regards to insurance? Who should I call? I'm pretty clueless with this type of stuff.

Thanks for anyone that has any info that could help.
