Doesn't it always sound like the Big 12 is trying to convince themselves...
that what they've done up to this point will actually have a bearing on the success of their conference.

These interviews come off sounding like someone standing on front of a mirror repeating affirmations to himself.

"Ours will be unique"

"The Big 12 is going to settle things that other conferences are going to leave up for debate"

"...but you have to be willing to be bold in this day and age"

Blah blah buh blah

I am reminded of the old SNL skit starring Al Franken:

(Sorry for any emotional political fallout from including Franken's name as part of this post)

I honestly think that the Big 12 has gotten together and, on multiple occasions, coordinated a "stand united" posture with the media to try to project that there is a chance that they have a clue what they are doing.

I have to admit that I hope more than ever going into the 2017 season that the Big 12, as a conference, utterly tanks it this year and doesn't have a sniff a the CFP. Further, that their "conference championship" rematch do-over gets ridiculed roundly by the sports media.

(Yes, I am still bitter about the whole expansion bit... and (standing in front of the mirror) by darn,. I have a right to be!! )
