while i think we should all obey the rules on the board, i really resent the
idea that we should limit what we say on a BYU SPORTS FAN MESSAGE BOARD because "there's a good chance" a player or a player's family might read it or see it.

by definition, fans are fanatic, which means we're emotional and probably over-react to most everything. any player jumping on here searching the board for posts about them is doing themselves a HUGE disservice. this is of the ONLY forums we have as fans to discuss (among other things) BYU sports. when they stink it's not gonna always be roses and confetti cake around here. that should be ok and even expected.

this doesn't mean we are jerks and should only post greg-wrubell-like positive spin about every single team/stat/game/etc. if i were a college athlete, or my kid was one, i'd advise them to stay off all social media and to stop reading what fanatics say because one minute they are gonna love you and say you're the best and the next you're the worst and really it's most likely somewhere in between.
