I don't see how crappy bowl games would improve
We're largely going to the same "crappy" bowl games that the MWC is tied into, the same bowl games we would have gone to if we were part of the MWC. The only difference would be not knowing which of the crappy bowl games we'd be going to before the season -- and to get there we'd play the same crappy November teams that we play this year; the only non-MWC team we play this November is UMass, and they are about the same ranking as SJSU (who we play in October). At least in most of the upcoming years we'll play one P5 school in November (Utah, Missouri, USC, Stanford, Virginia).

You have to take the statement in context. The context is competing with P5 schools as an independent is not sustainable
