Why does the pro-conference crowd talk up AAC as the choice? It would kill us
with costs being in that conference. The closest current AAC teams to Provo are Wichita State (999 miles) and Tulsa (1,200 miles) away. Throw olympic sports teams trips to Temple (Philadelphia, 2,100 miles), Navy (Annapolis, 2,100 miles), UConn (Storrs, 2,300 miles), and USF (Tampa, 2,400 miles), and expenses and lost class time seems like a deal breaker. Maybe we could join the league just for football, but doing that keeps us in the sad little WCC. I don't think thate really helps either.
If we leave indpendence w/o a P5 invite, it seems like the MWC is logical choice. I know that makes some of you recoil, but I don't know what else we can do.

You have to take the statement in context. The context is competing with P5 schools as an independent is not sustainable
