Does BYU really have a small recruiting pool?

All LDS players, elite and not so elite, know of BYU. All Polynesians, know of BYU.

Is there really a small recruiting pool or is it that kids want to play at other schools that fit them?

BYU has more eyes on them than a lot of other schools but some of the fanbase like to play victim as if the pool is shallow.
