First of all, I'm not in the G5 camp, I'm Indy until we are P5 group.
But it would be unsustainable in the event that we lose fan interest. If season ticket sales slow, and if TV ratings dip to the point that we are not being seen and then not rewarded with a decent contract, money will dry up. Our biggest asset right now is our fan base. But as you can see based on the activity on the board and the overall mood of the board, lots of people aren't going to games (i.e. no sell outs even when Utah and Wisconsin come to town) and low ratings like in this years holy war. If this trend continues then we lose our biggest asset, our fan base. The only way to combat this is winning especially in the rivalry game. How many of us watched the rivalry game with very little confidence that we would win? I was one unfortunately. We need to win to keep fan interest up. Without that fan interest we as a program are now not much different than any other G5. This is why Indy is unsustainable. Us, if we lose interest, there is no program without the fans.
