But that doesn't hold water.
The donor base doesn't give money to BYU BECAUSE we are independent.
They give more money to BYU when they see success and winning. EVERYONE wants to be part of a winning organization.
I did say in my OP that I am assuming we get to keep some, if not all, of our ESPN deal. Big assumption, I know. But donors are going to dry up because we go to a G5 conference, that is pure speculation.
We'd all rather be in a P5 league! But i feel like going through a G5 conference is the best route to get there. We are NOT an attractive football program right now and honestly haven't been since the start of Indy.
Winning is the key, and G5 gives us the best chance at winning.
