Just read that Aaron Hernandez suffered from CTE.
I believe that CTE may be the thing that destroys football unless something is done to change the game to make it less violent.

I know a lot of younger parents who are not letting their kids play football because of concussions and the dangers of CTE.

I love football, but I'm not sure if I let my son, if I had one (all daughters), play football with what we know right now.

FYI, of the 111 former NFL players now deceased whose brains were tested, 110 had CTE. That is 99.09%.

The problem is that CTE can only be diagnosed posthumously.

Incidentally the doctor who tested Aaron Hernandez's brain said he was at stage 3 which is usually find in someone in their 60's. Hernandez was 27 when he killed himself.

I know that the board is taking about the sustainability of Independence and the future of BYU football, but I'm just not sure how much longer football is going to be around. Are people really willing to sacrifice quality of life in their later years for a few years of Fame and fortune.

I love football. It has been my favorite sport for a long time. I think in order for it to continue things are going to have to change.

This caused me to think about the targeting rule. I know we all hate it, but if it leads to guys not using their heads as a batting ram or a weapon, then maybe three rule ain't so bad.
