No, but you really ought to have an HVAC sizer or an engineer spec your runs
Improper ducting can really mess up your airflow and thus comfort in each room, not to mention if your oversize or undersize the equipment.
But other than that, it's pretty straightforward. Use mastic, and plenty of it. Don't use duct tape.
