Of course you are right, they do have a lot of bigs and hopefully a couple of them will prove capable and effective. That is what they prefer. How that question is answered may determine how much they play small, which would not be the preference. Coaches have said they hope to start a true center.
Rose goes into every game to win it. So it will likely come down to what is working now.
The idea of playing small is not usually good, mostly because defensive efficiency correlates to average height. I just hope centers step up and that is not so clear right now.
My comment was that playing small might be our most effective group on the floor. Maybe i should have added that would be a limiting option. It is tough to find examples of elite teams with that kind of lineup. Maybe 1964 UCLA. Wooden had no starters over 6-5, though that group did include 3 long term NBA players, Goodrich, Hazzard, and Erickson. But that team pressed full court for the entire game, every game.
You point is that BYU has invested in bigs and they should play them. Can't argue with that. It's probably necessary for morale as well.
