As we contemplate various doomsday and salvation scenarios for P5, several people have suggested the positive possibility of other programs like Texas going independent. That would be cool, but...

I understand that Texas has a big ego and doesn't play well with others, but why would they really do this? Given how virtually no one is independent anymore, how well it has turned out for us and even Notre Dame, why would anyone else take such a huge gamble?

Sure, it would be great for us if a bunch of top teams went independent, but frankly I think they would be insane to try something like that. Are we not the "case-in-point" backers would use to say "don't do it!!"?
