I posted about the father of my wife's friend who was in Montenegro a week ago. He needed a translator for the doctors--they got that. He had a medical emergency, and has been in the hospital. This hospital is a third-world joke. The dad has only 1/3 of the volume of blood, but the hospital discharged him because they can't do anything for him. They've said the whole country is literally out of blood. They have tried contacting the mission president and mission doctor, and he referred them to a gynecologist/dentist. Wow. That was the best they could do. She asked the mission doctor who rich people go to in the country, and he said "Rich people are smart enough not to get sick here."

They can't fly him home because the airlines will only let him fly if he can get medical clearance, but he can't get medical clearance, or if he does, it won't be covered by their insurance. This woman was talking to my wife tonight and was in tears--she has tried calling embassies, random rich people with planes--anybody who might be able to help. They could fly him home for around $150,000, but she said, "I could mortgage my house again, but I don't know that's in the best interest of my children." She is literally trying to decide how much her dad's life is worth.

Currently they are in Bosnia just at somebody's house. Does anybody have any ideas on how to get this guy somewhere that he can get medical attention? Or where would be best for them to go? Italy? Elsewhere?

There's more craziness to the story I haven't added, but if anybody knows a way to help please post.
