The threat is always more terrible than the execution. BYU can run and execute
a quick easy basket if the defense fails to hustle back. That constant credible threat is crucial, and perhaps more effective than how many transition FGs are converted.

And yes, aside from wearing teams down at higher elevations, it assures BYU's outstanding defensive rebounding game.

Aron Nimzowitsch, the great early 20th century chess genius, is the likely source of the concept, translated from German: "the threat is stronger than the execution."
