This has been a tough season (no explanation needed). I have been on the G5 boat for a while now. 

In many ways, I even fanned the flames that have caused division on this board (wasn't trying to troll - just being opinionated). Hey, at least I am man enough to admit it. I quickly learned that this topic was a sore subject for many on CB. In my blind passion, I believed those who disagreed with me couldn't see the impact of remaining Independent. This only pushed me to challenge others and rally the war horses. 

Some on here said if BYU went G5 that they would trade in their season tickets and some said they would stop following the team. This peeked my interest towards finding out who is a true fan. 

So in my last post, I threw out the question to learn if BYU fans only follow the team because they have no one else to cheer for or if their allegiance would change if they found themselves near better programs. 

To my surprise, the true and AWESOME colors of this board shinned. Not a single person said they were on the verge of leaving the fan base. In fact, most stated that they have remained true regardless of living near better teams. 

Thank you. I hoped for this and needed it. We are a strong and independent (no pun intended) fan base. Although we may have differing views, we can all agree that BYU football is our team. 

I will tone down the G5 nonsense. Thank you to all the die-hards that refuse to let a bad season deter them from rooting for the team.
