Patience, CB. Sitake inherited a good program that couldn't get over the hump.
If you were completely satisfied with what BYU was accomplishing under Bronco, then go ahead and complain. Maybe we could have held on to Bronco, continued to win about 50% of our P5 games, very rarely beat P5 opponents who end up with a winning season, and go to a bowl game every single year. Bronco maintained a respectable brand at BYU and I'm thankful for that. We had some really embarrassing losses, but for the most part we competed.

But if you're like me, and you want to see BYU beat some P5 teams that are actually competitive in their own conferences, or you want to see BYU pull together a special year and make a run for a NY6 bowl, then why are you complaining?

If you decide you're going try and get the program over the hump, changes MUST be made. Recruiting needs to improve, schemes need to change, etc. The program has to develop a new identity, and it hasn’t yet. That should come as no surprise since we have a brand new head coach, brand new offensive coordinator, and brand new staff (with the exception of Kaufusi). The team also has brand new leaders. We lost Jamaal Williams, Taysom Hill, and Kai Nacua all in one year and it shows. New leaders have needed to step up, and they haven’t. Just look at what we accomplished last year with good, experienced leaders. That’s a missing piece that can’t be overlooked.

So yes, Bronco did hand Kalani a good, solid program – but changes had to be made to get us over the hump, and you can’t expect the program to find its new identity overnight, especially against a brutally front-loaded schedule, brand new leaders, and an offensive coordinator trying to find his feet.
I’m not happy at all with how awful we look and that we are last in offensive stats, but I’m also not ready to make disparaging comments about Ty Detmer or Kalani Sitake and I’m not ready to say that the change was a bad move. Patience is needed!

The narrative that our offense has done nothing good under Detmer is wrong. (GOR, Sep 26, 2017 at 3:12pm)
