ImuaKahuku Walk-on
Don't know what you consider an apologist but I prefer patience to reaction. I'm
not sure if people were expecting to be 5-1 or 4-2 at this point. But I prefer the Lavell formula. Establish a program not ad hoc year to year. A good coach might adjust to player strengths but you don't change the whole offense. If you do you get BYU 2001-2004. I prefer the bumps early and numerous years of success with a bump here or there to a program in a constant spiral.
Lavell was 7-4 and then 5-6 in year two. Imagine if they would have fired him after year two because they had a losing record. Lavell had no HC experience and was creating a program that bucked conventional wisdom. Sound familiar? Unfortunately for Kalani BYU has a winning tradition now. But he and Ty need time to get everything in place.
And for the fire TD crowd, who should we get to replace him. The best OC's already have good paying gigs. If they don't then who gave up on them and why? So let's take a chance on one of them because they will bring back the popular offense of the day (the one every d is now familiar with). And we will run it with less talented players and expect to make the playoffs.
Patience and support is what our team needs right now. I will say that if we could get Gary Anderson as a D consultant or co-d coordinator I would be all for it as long as he and Tuiaki can work together.
So I guess on behalf of TD and Kalani I apologize.
