Good questions. Give your yewt buddy this little nugget to chew on:
The state of Utah passed a landmark anti-discrimination/religious freedom bill that had the blessing of the Church and many LGBTQ groups; even if the latter felt it could go further. Given the perception of the state, that was a great moment, BUT...

as the world continues to drift further afield from traditional values, what if the state legislature passed a bill that ticks off the left the way North Carolina did? Given how far to the right the Utah State Legislature leans, that is not out of the question. If that happens, don't think for a minute the lefties in PAC12 administrations wouldn't send the yew to the curb.

It may never happen, but very few things stay the same forever and I'd argue it is as likely to happen as not.
