Most every other sport and division of the NCAA have a full playoff system so a division or conference championship
means more than a cool trophy and to say you were MWC or WAC champs. If that is what gets you all excited, you are rooting for the wrong school right now.

That's not the point. The point is nobody talked about moving back to the MWC after we beat those teams.
