He has mentioned how frequently he and Whit talk...if he listens to Whit
expect an eternal revolving door at OC...

I don't blame him wanting to talk to LaVell, what coach, who is struggling wouldn't want to get his prospective. Bronco's staff visited with Roger French on occasion in addition to coach Edwards. Perhaps this staff should reach out to Roger, too?

Hoping for a happier ending to the season and for the lights to go on among the players and coaches. The remaining portion of the season following Saturday's game should be used to prep for next year. Use the remaining games to see who wants and who can play. Develop them and then recruit to your weaknesses.

I am not in the locker room or team meetings. I have watched practices and obviously games. With that said, I believe this teams lacks player leadership, stern coaching (these coaches need to get on players in practice and in the games - not seeing it from the top down), and we obviously lack the personnel to run both the offense and defense. We all know that all football programs expect three to four years of recruiting to get their players into the program. Well, at BYU we need to add an extra one to two years due to missions.

The offense was built around the Anae offense, now the offense is expected to perform under a pro-set offense. We don't have an experienced D-1 RB, our WRs and TE's are young (overall), and sorry guys but you take away two hail Mary passes by Tanner (Nebraska and Boise) and he is a very average QB. We saw a glimpse of what this offense can do when it has NFL caliber personnel (Taysom and Williams) in the backfield, senior WRs, not to forget leadership!

I am not forgetting how many times last year's defense saved this team and gave the offense the ball over and over again. What's with Cahoon having the WRs run along the sidelines? Our WRs can't get separation so in order to complete the sideline "tightrope" passes, the QB has only one option - perfect pass over the outside shoulder without the WR adjusting his route. If he has to adjust he either steps out of bounds or the pass sales out of bounds, or he is pushed out. Throwing the ball on the inside shoulder opens up for interceptions. Bring the WRs in a few steps so they can adjust to the outside shoulder pass. Perhaps in Canadian football to spread the field that's how the WRs work? The coaches should have known they didn't have a great rb or wr and gone out and got someone who could contribute this year. Sorry, it goes for the QB spot, as well. knowing the plan to redshirt the two freshmen at the start of the season leaving you with Mangum, Hoge, and Detmer should have resulted in going after a JC QB for at least the back-up role.

This year's defense uses the blitz like once a game (not want to show it to often) vs. last year with blitzes coming frequently. Interesting, how turnover margins have shifted to match the number of blitzes between the two years. In addition, our defensive ends take horrible angles to the QB/backfield allowing for large gains on the outside due to the lack of containment. Before the season started Tuiaki took the d-line over moving Kaufusi to the linebackers...Weren't we suppose to be a 4-3 base defense?? I know there are players redshirting, but for heaven's sake, this coaching staff should have known what they don't have at safety and brought someone in who could contribute immediately!

For Lamb being a special teams guru, sorry not seeing it in any phase of the game. We have had one solid return, our placekickers are not even average for JC ranks. Recruit someone!!!!!

I shouldn't post when on drugs (medical), but this team will match I believe the 1942 team for six-consecutive losses on Saturday...players and coaches need to be held accountable. I am a Sitake / Detmer fan and support them and the team! But for those who think that Bronco's team would have six losses in the first seven games this season are mistaken. Sometimes we get what we wish for and then regret it.
