Admittedly, although I'm a passionate fan with 19 years of season tickets under my belt, I'm not well versed in Xs and Os. I don't have the knowledge to know if someone was open and Tanner just missed him and checked off to one of those crappy 2 yard sideline routes or if the play was never designed to go downfield. I really don't get it. Why, against the worst defense in the country giving up more than 300 yards per game, did they not throw the ball downfield until the 4th quarter when it was too late?
Ty Detmer is a BYU hero...a legend, but he is flat out a failure at play calling. Am I missing something?
