Tanner Mangum Adjusted QBR

Here is Tanner's Adjusted QBR for the last three years in games he played a significant role:

Freshman:

  • Nebraska 94.1
  • Boise 70.7
  • UCLA 60.4
  • Michigan 28.5
  • UConn 72.7
  • ECU 87.2
  • Cincy 73.6
  • Wagner 99.4
  • SJSU 61.9
  • Missouri 68.0
  • Fresno St. 66.6
  • Utah St 81.6
  • Utah 38.1

Sophomore:

  • Southern Utah 50.2
  • Wyoming 58.9

Junior

  • Portland State 18.0
  • LSU 27.1
  • Utah 21.4
  • Boise St 18.4
  • Miss St 66.9
  • ECU 13.8

So, you take someone that is a fairly consistent 60-70 guy as a freshman.  Then you turn him into a 50-60 guy as a sophomore.  Then, he drops to a 10-30 guy as a junior.  At this point, you could literally choose a random player on the team, and they would likely get a similar adjusted QBR as Tanner. It may be that he is injured - but that doesn't explain Portland State.  It may be we have a bunch of crappy recievers, but if so why isn't Dyan Lake playing both ways?

It seems to be a terrible combination of a QB that has so completely mentally bad that he literally has no value above replacement with an offensive lineman, coaching that seems to be completely deviod of any rational basis for decision making, and skill players that don't want the ball.

Someone needs to step up and change the QB, change the coaching, change the skill players, or change all three.  They needed to do it weeks ago before the Utah State game.

Go Cougs!!!!!!!!
