"The Last of the Mohicans" is supposedly really poorly written - so much so that
Mark Twain later wrote an essay entitled "James Fenimore Cooper's Literary Offenses Against America" or something like that.
I personally have never read it, so I can't really provide a personal opinion on it, but it's famous for being famous despite being bad.
