Prepare for coaching changes on offense.
I have heard many critical of Kilani calling out the offense and not the defense so much. He is right on. It is true that our defense is not Alabama, but all things being equal they have played easily well enough to win every game except a couple. You can’t be too harsh on a defense that is ALWAYS on the field playing hard while the offense does NOTHING! They can see on film that they can improve but they also can see the dumpster fire on the other side. The offense is bad. The turnovers are a punch in the gut.

I am not in that locker or film room and none of you is either. I can’t tell you the specific blame between scheme and execution. As the season and losses mount, it IS coaching. I can say that the offense is playing far below its potential. It is not close. What is the opposite of synergy? For the offense, the whole is far less than the sum of its parts.

We are near the bottom in EVERY offensive statistic.... even after playing truly poor teams. Kilani cannot survive another year like this. Holmoe cannot survive another year like this. The program cannot survive another year like this. BYU enjoys some of the best fans and attendance in all of football. This can change in a heartbeat. This is bigger than a few coaches.

Prepare for wholesale coaching changes in about two weeks. I truly feel terrible for Detmer and staff but you can’t force the next guy to keep the old assistants. The money to support a solid hire is there. I feel BYU will pony up what it takes. If not, we die.
