I really wanted this coaching staff to succeed, but this game gives me no hope.
These last few games are ones BYU should win in dominating fashion. The front loaded schedule was tough, things looked bleak, but I could have had hope for the future if it looked like they were getting things figured out and were able to motivate their guys to finish the season strong. That has not happened. The team has continued its spiral. It's coaching more than injuries, a tough start, etc.

I wanted these coaches to succeed. I knew it would take some bumps to get there. But this lack of improvement coupled with a lack of fire or pride from the players points to major issues as opposed to merely a bumpy learning curve. Maybe one day these guys will be great, but right now it's a bad fit. They're probably not going to get much better as coaches here, and BYU isn't going to get better as a team while they are here. I think parting ways is mutually beneficial at the moment.
