team and their spouses are going to get a Hawaiian holiday as the reward for going 2-10? We will be lucky if President Trump doesn't need to negotiate the release of a couple of the young guys for stealing Aloha shirts and sunglasses. And maybe another couple who decide to bring Ula a little sample of Maui Wowie.

Yesterday was despicable. It's quite clear that the QB position is WIDE OPEN during spring break and fall camp. Critchlow was a head case. I don't buy the 'first time starter at home', so you can go on the road and start easier than at home? Run production was terrible, a sign of the state of our OL, that just don't care. Oh, and Mike Empy? See ya, we don't need your boy that bad. This OL was TERRIBLE. There is Blaine Fowler talking about what a 'great job' Mike Empey has done and all I am seeing is a bunch of heavy footed mules watching the UMass DL blow by them like we were running a middle screen. It was like playing 'see who can get to the QB first". Tragic that they are so bad, and once again the spectre of Austin Hoyt playing another down at TACKLE is haunting me. That guy is WEAK SAUCE. Terrible.

Maybe Joe-Joe just pissed them off and they were doing it on purpose to get even, but after 12 games just looked like more of the same crap, but with less effort.

The horrible, horrible tackling on the defense, the lackluster play by our corners? Isabella was supposed to be good, but the combo Palmer and Ford made the CBs look like they were high school kids. Wilcox can't keep the screen to the inside, no safety cover. Poor Fred was all over the place. Takitaki and Fred and Zane Anderson were the only ones I would praise. Dyan G. was a train wreck. He might as well have been wearing cement shoes on the TD. He will be in a cast for a year for how badly his ankles got broke on that play.

But our push on D is horrendous. You can't just have a package that stops the run (or not) and one that rushes. Wait, no worry to that, we don't have interior D linemen that can rush. 12 games of squat.

Where the heck was Kafentzis? Our running backs are limited to an inconsistent Squally and hardly healed KJ?

We distributed the ball well enough when we could throw it TO someone and not over their head. Talon Shumway was supposed to be the guy that if he could get a hand on it, he would catch it. That wasn't the case.

I guess besides my total disgust with the game yesterday, my point here is that Holmoe should have just cancelled the Hawaii game, forfeited and sent everyone back to class. Forget a holiday that's going to cost the athletic department $300,000 in travel costs. It's not worth it. Why bother? The players are just going to go to Hawaii and fool around, they'll miss curfew, maybe get suspended because Sitake will need to show some resolve.

I'm not seeing how the coaching staff as it stands now is going to produce anything better next year. There were a handful of players who were out there playing at home for the last time. They acted like it and you could see their effort, but it takes more than 6-8 guys smattered between O and D to pull that off.

In 15 years of watching or listening to BYU games in the wee hours of Sunday morning, I've only turned it off and gone back to bed ONCE. That was yesterday. And I'm totally disappointed in what I saw.
