what would I say if it was my son on the team?

My son was with me in the stands. And even though he was crying, once again, by the end of the game Saturday, he still wanted to go down and give the players high fives and ask for autographs. But the players were called in to the locker room and didn't get to make their round of the stadium.

I was disappointed by the game, but I was just as disappointed that I didn't get to say thank you to the players. Because they're my team.

(And your son deserves those thank yous too--even if they would have had to cart him out for any high fives.)
