Maybe there was someone, but it seems like he got "his" guys. He hired several coaches who were entry level or minimum level college experience, so there was no need to pay up most of them. They did pay up some to hire Lamb and Detmer and hired several additional football support positions with Dumuni and others that used to be maned by 2-4 less staff.
Now if you start looking at P5 coaches outside of byu with experience, Sitake and byu would probable have to pay more, but they'd have to let go some coaches first. I think They should fire Cahoon, Mahe, and Clark, maybe Detmer too, and fork out the cash to bring in a more experienced offensive staff, but I'm not sure they will. I'm also not sure who'd want to coach at byu that brings more experience on the offensive side anyhow? I'm not in favor of bringing on or over paying ARod. He's proven to be a bad OC already. I might consider someone like the head coach at Weber if he was interested. I know there's a few younger lds guys like Jason Beck or the coach at Snow.
