For me the angst was that I didn't see anything on the court that made me think
he could ever be anything besides a Derek Dawes or James Anderson type of big man (lots of turnovers on offense and lots of fouls on defense, and washing out of the program after a year or two).

I mean, I can't think of any flashes in his first two years that suggested he had D1 talent that could be developed. That sounds harsh as I type it--there probably were a few. It's just that none come to mind.

I completely agree that we need to develop guys instead of running them off (which has happened too much in recent years). I just didn't think Worthington was really a candidate for development.

Like thebruce said, I couldn't see the off-court things he brought to the tram like leadership (and we need as much of that as we can get).

I am delighted with how he has developed and hope he can continue to improve. And I'm glad he stuck around.
