What we currently lack is the one common denominator among great teams.
It's what Bill Walsh defined as a champion's "standard of performance". He explained how winners win well before they ever take the field. There are key foundational pieces in place (including the right mindset) that lead to the necessary success off the field. That in turn, takes hold of the entire organization and builds the right culture. When that standard of performance has been established, the scoreboard takes care of itself.

I believe that under LaVell, BYU had that championship standard of performance. BYU felt like they were going to win each game before they ever took the field. What we saw this season with this team was the complete opposite. We need to get that changed - top to bottom.
