Ocho Cuatro All-American
My MIL bought us a wii when my oldest was 6. He had no idea what video games
were until then. Overnight he became obsessed. If he wasn't playing he was thinking about it. How do I know? Multiple times a day he'd get a creepy half smile on his face and then blurt out, "hey dad, remember when I was Yoshi and you were Mario...?"

Anyway, maybe the best parenting decision we made was designating one day a week for video games. On that day, he plays an hour in the morning and a couple after school, and then nothing the rest of the week. Now the younger kids have followed suit. They don't ask/talk about it until maybe the night before. And the ultimate added bonus, they still use the wii, because the don't know any better. It is a dinosaur, so I can get them a game or two a year for like $10.
