As many of you know i have a friend who works with the team. I've posted some practice updates and team info over the past season, my FO got most of the recent updates.

I find that between Independence and this terrible season i am realizing that i am too invested in BYU football and I am letting it affect my happiness more than is healthy.

Cougarboard is part of (my) problem. It's not the board, 99% of the people who i interact with are great people, it's the way i get involved in checking threads and getting into silly arguments with no positivity.

My contact at BYU feels the same as Bronco, that Independence makes life on BYU harder.
I don't like Independence. I think it makes it unnecessarily hard on the coaches to recruit and motivate. I think it makes the season less interesting for fans without conference rivalries and championships. BYU should be in the American conference. We don't have the resources, coaches or recruits to play a P5 schedule, with a handicap of lesser motivation with no chance at a CC or high scale bowl game. I think overall Indi negatively affects the program and the WCC is clearly worse than the AAC in bball is not a positive for the program. You can disagree with this. That's fine. Give me a thumbs down, comment with a good riddance. I truly don't care. This subject gets people on the board more fired up that just about anything.

I seriously just need to get myself off of the board and remove myself from BYU sports at the level i am currently invested. I'll watch the game tomorrow and continue to support the program, because i love BYU. That said, I just need to take a step back.
