As a BYU PR grad and PR guy for 20 years, this is very naive
Yes, BYU has a great, great PR program, but these students are still just that: students. I got my head handed to me numerous times my first few years out of school working at a PR firm in New York. There were plenty of things about my job that a degree in PR did not prepare me for. I don't think that's unique, most degrees don't really prepare you to hit the ground running in your first job. Turning BYU's PR needs over to a group of students, however smart they may be, would end in tears. And maybe fire.
