The moment I knew Kalani was a bad fit.
In the UMASS game Critchlow overthrows a receiver. The camera's are showing Critchlow afterwards and you can see Kalani in the back ground mouth "Come on" with a disgusted look.

Before then there were a lot of worries, but that revealed Kalani. I get being upset, but I would never want to play for a guy like that. You go out there and do your best and your best isn't good enough and the coach comes down on you for it. Forget it. Coaching is about addressing mistakes, teaching the game, identifying weakness and building on them. Calling people out is rarely motivating.

The big picture: The defense got worse as the season progressed. No blitzes, no creativity, nothing. But Tuiaki didn't change the defensive schemes all season. We made ever other teams QB look like a Heisman candidate. Overall there was no leadership, no pride, nothing. The only improvement I saw was in our offense and the guy that was constantly changing, designing, and trying to improve it was fired. Bone headed move.

Kalani doesn't know what he is doing and he has no plan. He made mention of it when he said he wished Lavell was around so he could ask him what to do. He has one more year. I don't care who he hires as OC because the whole staff is gone in 2018.
