RP Evening crowd: Three JC's we have offered.
From the sounds of things BYU has offered 3 players from the JC ranks. This is not news to many of you that read Scout or J.Drews recruiting stuff.

The three kids are.
Aaron Gress.

This is a link to video of him.

He is cleared to play (meaning w/ the clearinghouse). And should graduate in dec. He will have 3 years to play 2. Now he is listed as running a sub 4.5 40 time. I think thats a little fast. I'm not saying he can't but from what I have read most other times are in the 4.6 range. Which is fast enough for the size he has.

Jordan Atkinson.

Jordan was hosted by Nixon. Who thought alot of Jordan. I think it helped that he was a JC and not a FR. From what was said from Nixon, Jordan really enjoyed his visit. I don't think he has a scholarship from Cal. But From what I understand he has the wheels to help out right away. Gman has an article on him. (I don't have a scout membership). But the feeling I got was that he is very impressed at BYU and I would think we have a very good chance to land him.

Lee Aguirre.

Highlights from Fr year. These are a little tough to follow.

This kid I don't know any more than you. From what I have gathered (From Scout and Drew) he is 5'10" and runs around a 4.5 40. Gurney has said BYU is his top school as of now. But he has had 17 interceptions his Fr and Soph year. I don't even know if he has 3 years to play 2. But I know we could use another DB. And I would put a premium on a kid that had cover skills (maybe we can line up only 5 yards off.)

Some of the 'news' on these three guys is the fact that BYU offered them. Bronco has stated that if he brings in any JC players this year he would need them to be ready to play this next year. Some JC players brought in, in the past have taken a red shirt to get ready. In an interview with Wrubel, Bronco stated that BYU was looking for immediate help from the RB and the CB spots. They would still be under the same guideline. (Needing to be able to play this year.) Lavell had great success with JC corners at BYU. And with the loss of G. We need to get players in the system yesterday.

These players can sign tomorrow (from what I understand) and will start at BYU in January. But I will tell you this CB. BYU really likes both of these Linebackers. If we get either one, look for them to see the field. And from what I understand Gress is very good at run stop. Which says a lot about instincts.
