Texas and OU not tied together
They have only been in the same Conference since e Big XII. Before at, OU Was Big 8 and Texas was SWC and they still played every year at the Cotton Bowl same time of year every year.
Perhaps things have changed and OU wants to stay with Texas. But I do not think we should all assume that they are bound together because that is a recent phenomenon.
