The two major differences between Rose and Bronco
1) Rose has taken BYU somewhere they haven't been in 3 decades, and therefore became untouchable.
2) Rose quietly does his job without shoving his rhetoric down everyone's throats, and he occasionally makes nice comments about the fans that pay for his salary. All this while maintaining the integrity that is expected from a BYU team.

I realize in most cases we are comparing apples to oranges when talking about the achievements of these two coaches. But the fact remains that Rose has taken his program to new heights while Bronco manages to keep his program in the same place: Just out of reach of national relevancy. The weird things he says to get under people's skin does not help either. I posted earlier today that if Bronco had beaten Utah 54-10 the night after he made his infamous pharisee comment, probably no one would remember what he said now. Since he got his trash kicked, we connect that to his self righteousness and assume it is getting in the way of team preparation.

I have said some negative things on this board about Bronco, and I'm trying to change my ways. I realize that negativity never helps, and I am grateful for how he cleaned up the mess when he took the job. But I think it's time for him to take his program to the next level. At this point I don't care if he does that with Nelson, Lark, Munns, Hill, Mangum, or whoever he thinks is best. I just want it to happen and I will support him until it does. In the meantime I think it would help his case if he would tone it down on bringing so much religion into Football, but I don't see that happening.
