How long has Omer been the guy?
Seems like a history of not doing well, when Omer has been there like 4 seasons, seems like a heavy burden to put on him.

Maybe the culture is one of not working that hard? Coaches go home early. Football is 5th mentality, they go to "bowling day" and "seven peaks day" during fall camp as they are "ahead of schedule".

I really don't know, as stated before. If it really is a 'historical' thing then I would have to say it isn't Omer.

One thing I did notice this past season more than any other for BYU, however, is that they were a 1st half team early in the season. They fizzled baddly in the second halfs of many of the bigger games. I think it is becasue they are not in shape. The 'conditioning' part of strength and conditioning. They seemed to simply run out of gas.

I would put that on Omer to an extent, but the kids have to put the effort in as well. It is a complex topic and one that may have more to do with culture than anything.

I will guarantee that Utah was in very good shape, physically, to start the season. It is a part of the culture there. It showed in the second half of the BYU game.
