Why do I get the suspicion, though, that the Yewts just
rolled right over for the Pac 12 on this issue? I doubt they really put up much of a fight when it came to the Pac 12 not allowing any OOC games during the conference season.

Here's a thought for you. When going for in-state recruits, what if BYU is winning and Utah starts struggling in the Pac? What if BYU does go to the Big 12 and actually does pretty well while Utah is struggling? There's no way for Utah to really compare themselves to BYU when it comes to a recruit in that scenario. In fact, BYU could tell recruits that Utah won't play them and in the recruit's minds they make look at it as though the Yewts are afraid to play BYU since BYU is doing so well and the Yewts aren't. They could lose the best in-state recruits if that were to happen imo.

Something tells me that if the above scenario were to take place, the Yewts would suddenly be very open to starting the rivalry back up again.
