RE: Utah is NOT being short-sighted on this
Utah is now owned by the PAC 12 conference. I would put it a different way but would get kicked out of cougarboard. The PAC 12 has decided they do not want BYU in Utah's future. They want to build a Utah-Colorado rivalry and have done what they have to do to make that possible.

For one, no games against other teams after the first 3 weeks (unless of course you are Stanford, USC, or UCLA) Utah does what they are told to do. Now they have the Big 10 game. This makes it even more difficult for Utah to schedule BYU. They now have 2 games.

Now look at it this way. After this year, Utah will be getting their backsides handed to them by Oregon, Stanford, USC, Arizona and possibly another Pac 12 team that might rise up. Not that Utah is bad, they just got in over their heads. Now add a possible game with Wisconsin or Ohio State. Now you are looking at possible loss number 6. Utah needs to add a few gimmies in there to keep their bowl possiblities alive.

So dont blame Utah for this. Blame Larry Scott. It is not Chris Hill's fault. As for BYU, we will be fine, we have several teams that we can begin to start a new rivalry. Notre Dame, Boise State, etc. I know those teams cannot rival Colorado but we will have to make do
